Former U.S. Supreme Court Clerk Joins Wyche Law Firm« All News

COLUMBIA, SC; GREENVILLE, SC (November 2018) Andrew Bentz has joined Wyche as a litigation associate.  From 2014 to 2015, Andrew served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy. Most recently, Andrew worked at Jones Day in Washington, D.C. in the firm’s Issues and Appeals practice.

Andrew brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of complex issues facing important clients. He has argued in federal appellate courts, drafted briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court, provided neutral case evaluations, and represented clients in varied forums, including trials and international arbitrations. He has also represented diverse clients. To name just a few: the President of the United States, political campaigns, Fortune 100 companies, and criminal defendants. His cases have involved a range of legal issues, including questions of constitutional law, elections law, securities law, and class action defense.

Andrew received two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of South Carolina Honors College, a Master’s degree from Duke University, and a law degree from the University of Virginia.  Following law school he served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Alex Kozinksi of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

At Wyche, Andrew joins an established bench of three other former U.S. Supreme Court clerks. Wyche attorneys Henry Parr and Wallace Lightsey were law clerks to Chief Justice Warren Burger, and Eric Amstutz was a clerk to Justice Potter Stewart.

Andrew is based in Wyche’s Columbia office.
