We have had a significant personal injury practice throughout our history, as counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants. When defending cases, the firm is typically retained directly by the defendant, which is usually a national or multi-national corporation. The firm rarely is engaged by an insurance company for defense work.
Our representation of plaintiffs has a particular focus on assisting those who have suffered significant bodily injury. Areas in which we have litigated extensively include medical malpractice, product liability (including cases involving adverse reactions to prescription medication), motor vehicle collisions, aircraft crashes, boating accidents, and environmental workplace and premises illnesses and injuries. In plaintiffs' cases, Wyche is sometimes engaged by co-counsel in cases involving complex issues, or matters of first impression, to bring its resources and skill to bear on the case. Plaintiffs’ cases are typically taken on a contingent fee basis.
