Gregory J. English, Member
Greg works primarily in the area of commercial litigation, including corporate, UCC, real estate, environmental, trademark, trade secrets, non-compete and other commercial cases. His varied litigation experience includes over 30 jury and bench trials, plus numerous hearings on preliminary motions and injunctions, dispositive motions, and appeals in both state and federal courts. Greg also assists clients in investigating and responding to matters before administrative agencies and has taught Administrative Law for Clemson University’s Masters of Public Administration program.
Representative Matters
Greg’s recent experience includes:
- Successfully defending a one-week business interference case before a jury;
- Successfully trying a one-week real estate case before a jury;
- Successfully securing relief for shareholders in corporate dissolution cases, both through trials and pre-trial settlements;
- Securing contested environmental permits from administrative agencies;
- Both successfully securing and resisting (for different clients) preliminary and permanent injunctive relief in non-compete and trade secret cases;
- Securing summary judgment for a manufacturer in a trademark case
- Successfully prosecuting, defending, and arguing appeals of cases in the South Carolina Supreme Court, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, and the U.S Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
